We are seeking a results-driven Cost Accounting Manager with strong experience in manufacturing environments. In this role, you will lead cost accounting functions, including standard costing, inventory management, and operational finance, while partnering closely with plant leadership to drive cost visibility and improve margins. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and business-focused, with the ability to translate complex production data into clear, actionable insights.
This position plays a key role in strengthening financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
- Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including standard cost development, maintenance, and annual updates
- Oversee inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance
- Manage month‑end close processes related to inventory, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Analyze manufacturing variances (price, usage, labor, overhead, yield) and provide actionable insights to operations
- Partner with plant and supply chain leadership to monitor production performance, identify inefficiencies, and drive cost improvements
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including cost roll‑ups and production assumptions
- Maintain and enhance ERP costing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite)
- Ensure strong internal controls over inventory and costing processes; support audits and SOX compliance
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
- Strong expertise in standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
- ERP experience (SAP preferred)
- CPA or CMA a plus
