Financial Analyst
American Money Management Corporation (AMMC), a subsidiary of American Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: AFG), is one of Cincinnati’s largest investment firms with over $20 billion in assets under management. AMMC manages approximately $4 billion in third‑party pooled investment vehicles (CLO Platform) and seeks an experienced Investment Research Analyst to join the team in Cincinnati, OH.
The Investment Research Analyst will be an important contributor to the investment decision‑making process, analyzing companies that issue secured debt and providing insight that informs portfolio construction.
Responsibilities- Conduct independent deep-dive fundamental investment and credit analysis primarily on leveraged loans and other investments.
- Monitor macroeconomic trends, interest-rate movements, and sector-specific developments to inform investment strategy.
- Build and maintain historical financial summaries and financial models to evaluate potential investment opportunities, including base and downside stress-test scenarios.
- Analyze capital structures and credit agreements, including covenant compliance and restricted payments.
- Develop a deep understanding of financial markets and participate in an investment process that evaluates opportunities across a broad range of corporate credit securities.
- Maintain industry knowledge in specific sectors.
- Provide write-ups and recommendations to the investment committee.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to identify relative-value opportunities and optimize portfolio construction.
- Work closely with senior analysts to research, analyze, and monitor various companies and industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Generally, 3+ years of experience in credit research, leveraged finance, or corporate banking; formal bank credit training program completion is highly desirable.
- Progress toward a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel is required; experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
- Strong technical, written, and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
