Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for conversion)
Shift: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Summary
The Surgical Scheduler – Endoscopy is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all endoscopic and related procedures. This role ensures efficient use of resources, accurate documentation, and a smooth patient experience. As the central point of contact between physicians and clinical staff, the scheduler plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately schedule surgical/endoscopy procedures, coordinating with physicians, anesthesia, and clinical staff.
- Verify procedure orders, insurance authorizations, and patient demographics prior to scheduling.
- Optimize room utilization and support efficient patient throughput.
- Prepare and distribute daily schedules in a timely manner.
- Maintain precise records in the EMR and scheduling systems.
- Promptly communicate changes, add-ons, or cancellations to the care team.
- Partner with clinical teams to ensure patients are prepared with complete documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Previous surgical or endoscopy scheduling experience required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedure codes, and insurance authorization processes required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
