Summary
The State University of New Jersey (Rutgers) is seeking a per‑dime Research Assistant for the Pediatrics department within the New Jersey Medical School. The primary purpose of the position is to conduct specialized epidemiologic surveillance and research under the supervision and direction of the study investigator.
Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Adhere to field procedures as stipulated in the NJ Autism Study Field guide.
- Abstract and record relevant medical, sociodemographic, and diagnostic information onto computerized abstraction forms.
- Edit data, check printouts, code, and prepare data for upload to the main database.
- Perform basic computer functions in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Assist in data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant area (Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, Education, or related field).
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CITI (human subjects research) certification.
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing; no special vision requirements.
- Office environment with moderate noise.
- Must be able to travel by car to sources in the surveillance area (must provide own transportation).
- Salary: $15.49–$150,000 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and agency or grant funding.
