Overview
Your Mission: As an Examiner Physician Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting Veterans pursuing disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for service-related injuries. Your clinical insights will help facilitate access to treatment specialists, ensuring exceptional continuity of care for Veterans and guiding them through their claim with confidence and dignity.
Your Day: Your day will begin with purpose, reviewing claims and medical records, followed by focused medical evaluations with Veterans using your clinical expertise. You’ll assess injuries and provide objective medical opinions that directly impact benefits. You won’t be responsible for prescribing treatment plans or delivery of care. You will document findings with precision using our online system, maintaining accurate records and a compassionate, professional approach to create a positive exam experience for Veterans.
Pay: Base + Monthly Incentive = $ – $ annually

- Conduct Medical Disability Examinations:
Review medical histories, perform focused physical exams, and assess the impact of service-related conditions. - Provide Objective Medical Opinions:
Deliver evidence-based assessments on disability extent and impact on daily functioning to support VA benefits determinations. - Document Findings Accurately:
Record examination results and medical opinions in clear reports using VA-compliant formats and our case management system. - Ensure Quality and Compliance:
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet VA standards and maintain training and documentation requirements. - Manage Time and Scheduling:
Submit availability, confirm appointments, and manage workload for timely exams. - Maintain Confidentiality:
Uphold HIPAA standards and safeguard patient information.
- License:
Valid and unrestricted Physician Assistant license, valid in any U.S. state or territory - Education:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education - Experience:
Minimum of 1 year as a Physician Assistant - Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) current and maintained - Preferred Experience:
Medical disability evaluations and/or occupational health; experience with Veterans
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and meet federal contractor requirements
- Full range of motion required to conduct physical exams
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 15 lbs
- Ability to travel up to 10% to support other clinics, training, and events
- Proficient with Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms, and electronic medical records systems
