Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Department of Medicine-Infectious Diseases within the New Jersey Medical School. The primary purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant is to, under direction of the Clinical Research Site (CRS) Leader, assist the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Clinical Research Center as directed in all aspects of the program.
The following duties summarize the role.
- Assist with implementation of NJMS CRC clinical trials.
- Assist with recruitment initiatives as needed, including participant facing activities on site or in the field.
- Maintain research files and databases.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance activities on active clinical trials.
- Perform data entry for clinical trials conducted at NJMS CRC.
- Assist with maintenance of NJMS Clinical Research Center supply inventory.
- Support senior staff in the execution of clinical research activities at the NJMS Clinical Research Center (CRC).
- Contribute to recruitment efforts and participant-facing activities on site or in the field.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of research files and databases.
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance tasks for active trials.
- Enter and manage data for NJMS CRC clinical trials.
- Assist with inventory management for NJMS Clinical Research Center supplies.
New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, with a focus on improving human health. RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers and institutes focusing on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, biotechnology, environmental and occupational health, health care policy, and aging research.
Clinical partners include Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and University Hospital in Newark, among others. Rutgers RBHS is an anchor institution with locations in Newark, New Jersey, and across multiple sites.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. - Preferred:
One (1) year of professional experience. - Preferred:
Experience working on an interdisciplinary team. - Preferred:
Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities of color, LGBTQ communities, and related venues.
