About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bilingual Payroll Specialist (English/Spanish) to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.

Key Responsibilities
* Process biweekly/weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a high-volume environment
* Accurately calculate hours worked, wages, overtime, bonuses, garnishments, and deductions
* Ensure compliance with FLSA, IRS regulations, state wage laws, and local labor requirements
* Reconcile payroll discrepancies and proactively resolve issues in a timely manner
* Maintain and audit payroll records, including employee status changes, benefits elections, and tax with holdings
* Generate payroll reports and analytics for leadership review
* Assist with payroll tax reporting, audits, and year-end processes (W-2s, etc.)
* Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Finance to ensure data integrity
* Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
* Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience (multi-state payroll experience preferred). Experience in NY/NJ/PA a plus!
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
* Strong knowledge of payroll compliance regulations (FLSA, IRS guidelines, state-specific wage laws)
* Experience with payroll systems such as Pro Liant or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, data analysis)
* High attention to detail and exceptional accuracy
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* 10-key data entry proficiency
* Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit environments (a plus)
