Director of Human Resources – Acute Care Hospital
358-Bed Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital
Prior Union/Labor Relations Experience RequiredWe are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function for a 358-bed tertiary care teaching hospital in Newark.
This is a highly visible hospital leadership role responsible for employee and labor relations, HR operations, workforce strategy, compliance and partnering with executive leadership across the organization.
What You’ll Do:- Provide strategic HR guidance to hospital executive leadership
- Lead complex employee and labor relations matters
- Manage grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution
- Support workforce planning, retention and employee engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and hospital policies
- Advise leadership regarding the HR implications of organizational and operational changes
- Lead and develop the hospital HR function
- Healthcare/hospital HR leadership experience
- Strong union and labor relations experience required
- Significant employee relations and investigation experience
- Experience partnering directly with senior/C-suite leadership
- Knowledge of employment law and wage/hour regulations
- Familiarity with Joint Commission and hospital regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred - Minimum 3 years related healthcare experience
