Senior Systems Engineer (Enterprise Storage) - PA and NJ
About the role:
This is a senior technical resource for customer engagements across multiple industries and use cases 'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof‑of‑concept, designing storage and data management architectures for a range of workloads and environments.
The work is hands‑on with infrastructure teams, storage administrators, architects, and application owners. You'll translate business and technical requirements into solutions that perform at scale across on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud, covering file services, backup and archive, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud‑adjacent workloads.
Responsibilities- Own the technical relationship on customer opportunities, from discovery and demos through POCs and architecture sign‑off
- Partner with account teams to qualify deals and shape technical strategies for unstructured data, performance, scale, and hybrid cloud needs
- Design and validate solutions for workloads like file services, backup and archive, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud‑adjacent applications
- Design architectures that address multi‑site collaboration, cloud integration, DR, and long‑term data lifecycle
- Build credibility with infrastructure teams, storage administrators, architects, and application owners
- Build and maintain the technical toolkit: reference architectures, demo content, solution briefs, and competitive positioning
- 6+ years in a customer‑facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Pre‑Sales Engineer) at a software, storage, or technology company
- Track record leading complex pre‑sales engagements end to end, with results you can point to
- Strong grounding in enterprise storage, file systems, and unstructured data management across on‑prem and cloud, including NFS, SMB, and object
- Experience supporting or selling hybrid cloud solutions, cloud integration patterns, or multi‑cloud data management
- Ability to translate customer requirements into practical solution designs
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences
- Experience supporting customers across multiple industries and workload types
- Background with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including migration, tiering, and data protection
- Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, or Dev Ops workflows
Understanding of data protection, ransomware recovery, compliance, and business continuity - Experience with capacity planning, performance optimization, and TCO analysis
The annual pay range for the role is USD $250, OTE plus equity. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
