Director, Supply Chain Production (Hub)

📍 Newark, NJ | Full-time | On-site

Role Overview

Provide strategic and operational leadership for Supply Chain and Internal Logistics within a high-volume hub operation, ensuring efficient material flow, labour planning, cost control, and service excellence aligned to the master production schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end Supply Chain & Internal Logistics functions:
    Purchasing, Warehousing, Internal Delivery Systems (IDS), and Short-Term Forecasting & Planning.
  • Plan and control material flow from suppliers through storage and internal distribution, ensuring safety, food hygiene compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Align material, labour, and volume targets with Operations Planning & Control (OP&C), supporting forecasting, MRP, and MPS execution.
  • Own department KPIs, budgets (labour, materials, OpEx, Cap Ex), and productivity targets; drive performance via OPRS and planning tools.
  • Manage short- and medium-term labour planning to improve flexibility and productivity across functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean, CI, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement, finance, commercial, and corporate teams.
  • Oversee performance reporting, incident analysis, audits, and compliance with hygiene, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop large management and frontline teams (100 staff), promoting accountability, engagement, and performance culture.
Skills & Experience
  • 5 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics within manufacturing or high-volume operations.
  • 5 years leading large, multi-layered teams (100 employees).
  • Strong experience in change management, process improvement, and operational transformation.
  • Solid understanding of forecasting, planning, MRP, inventory management, and internal logistics.
  • Advanced IT and ERP capability (SAP or equivalent), strong MS Office skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver results under pressure in regulated, safety-critical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
