Associate Director, Launch, Global Value Stream (North America)
OverviewThe Launch Associate Director is a critical, hands‑on role responsible for the successful execution of new hardware installations, new building launches, and decommissioning projects across the North American network. The role serves as the primary project owner, coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure seamless operational readiness and minimal business disruption.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact from the Global Value Stream organization for all new facility launches, expansions, major hardware deployments, and site decommissioning activities in the United States and Canada.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed work breakdown structures, schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate and drive alignment across internal teams (Operations, Tech, Real Estate, HR, Procurement) and external vendors (contractors, suppliers) to meet launch deadlines.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and dependencies, escalating critical issues to leadership with proposed solutions.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of material handling equipment, IT infrastructure, and other operational systems in new and existing sites for the OpEX team.
- Establish Go/No‑Go criteria and lead comprehensive readiness reviews before handing over launched assets to the Operations team.
- Document and standardize launch processes, create post‑mortem reports, and implement lessons learned to continuously improve future project execution.
- Lead executives regionally across North America responsible for launch and related projects.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in high‑stakes project management, preferably within logistics, e‑commerce, or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success in managing large‑scale facility launches, capital expenditure projects, or complex hardware/system implementations.
- Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 50‑75%) to sites during critical project phases, including internationally.
- Familiarity with automated material handling systems (MHS), conveyor systems, and/or network infrastructure is highly desirable.

Newark, NJ Pay Range: $140,700—$170,500 USD
Position is also eligible for the Hello Fresh equity plan.
