Business Data Analyst – Inventory Forecasting

Full-Time | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

A growing company is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Business Data Analyst to join its Inventory Forecasting team.

This role will support demand planning and inventory management by analyzing data, identifying trends, and working closely with purchasing, operations, and sales. The ideal candidate is organized, takes ownership of their responsibilities, follows through consistently, and is comfortable driving projects forward in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze historical data, sales trends, and inventory activity to support accurate demand forecasting
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages, excess inventory, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and analytical tools to support business decisions
  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and sales teams to align forecasts, inventory needs, and priorities
  • Take ownership of key forecasting and inventory processes and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Lead follow-ups with cross-functional teams to maintain accountability and keep projects moving
  • Review large datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency
  • Manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, demand forecasting, inventory management, supply chain, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to identify trends, discrepancies, risks, and opportunities within data
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
