Job Description :

The Facilities Assistant II provides services related to maintaining and repair for several Covenant House properties.

Responsibilities

• Handles routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and physical plant of several Covenant House NJ properties.
• Serves as part of the Facilities team responsible for assisting with maintaining all agency buildings, equipment and inventory.
• Assists with maintenance requests process
• Assists with Snow removal
• Assists with inventory control and accountability of all equipment and supplies throughout multiple sites.
• Maintains inventory count of supplies and equipment.
• Assists in handling the shipping and receiving of purchased items.
• Safely and properly handles all agency property including tools and equipment.
• Assists housekeeping with heavy lifting, equipment cleaning and maintenance of closets, tools and equipment.
• Handles minor vehicle maintenance including weekly review of each vehicle as by the established maintenance checklist.
• Transports agency vehicles for repair, service and cleaning.
• Assists with fundraising event set up, delivery and disassembling. Event assistance may be conducted outside normal work hours.
• Operation of powered and non-powered tools.
• Follows all safety procedures.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.
• Required to check emails daily
• Required to attend Child Protection and other annual Mandatory training
• May be required to work occasional weekends
• All other duties assigned by management staff

This position is an on-call Per-diem as needed position. We are hiring multiple people to work available day shifts. Applicants may be needed to work afternoon or night events when needed.

• Hourly rate: $18.71

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid drivers license with insurable driving record
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to the position including lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds
• Travel with company vehicle throughout Northern New Jersey
