The Associate Dean of the Entry to Baccalaureate Nursing Practice Division provides strategic, academic, and operational leadership for all pre‑licensure nursing programs and post‑baccalaureate certificate programs. This role ensures program quality, regulatory compliance, faculty excellence, and student success across all campuses, working closely with Assistant Deans, Program Directors, DSCL leadership, and executive leadership.
Academic Leadership- Prepare reports and organize accreditation and regulatory visits.
- Align program goals and objectives with School standards and national expectations.
- Evaluate student, course, and program outcomes, using data to guide curriculum and faculty development.
- Facilitate development of comprehensive curricula that meet national standards.
- Oversee student schedules and establish course and faculty assignments in collaboration with Assistant Deans.
- Coordinate and monitor consistent delivery of high‑quality courses across sites and tracks.
- Evaluate faculty and staff performance and recommend appointments, reappointments, promotions, merit, tenure, and dismissal.
- Serve as a faculty member in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Provide recommendations on grade grievances and appeals.
- Maintain professional demeanor and communications.
- Develop and monitor admission, progression, and retention criteria for students.
- Interface with key personnel and organizations to advance the Division.
- Represent the programs to the public and communicate newsworthy faculty and divisional activities.
- Work with Program Directors to identify recruitment, retention, and advising strategies.
- Track retention data and identify factors influencing persistence.
- Oversee recruitment of full‑time and part‑time faculty, ensuring hiring aligns with accreditation and strategic priorities.
- Provide divisional leadership and quality expectations for preceptors and per‑diem faculty.
- Monitor certification pass rates and collaborate on remediation plans.
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership on financial and human resources management.
- Prepare annual budget requests with the Chief Financial Officer and operate within the approved budget.
- Submit required reports.
- Implement strategic plans with faculty, administration, and staff.
- Facilitate faculty and student communication regarding School activities.
- Chair Division meetings and serve as ex‑officio member on key committees.
- Participate in Dean’s Leadership Council meetings.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and Rutgers compliance standards.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission of the School of Nursing.
- Doctorate in Nursing (RN or PhD required).
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in nursing.
- Current RN licensure or eligibility in New Jersey.
- Active nursing practice experience in New Jersey.
- Prior academic administration and leadership experience.
- Adaptable, team‑oriented collaborator.
- Creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Experience in faculty development and evaluation.
- Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
