Position: Office of Employee Benefits - Benefits Plan Manager (Health & Welfare)

Overview

The Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) within the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta seeks a Benefits Plan Manager to lead a team in overseeing health and welfare benefits programs for employees, retirees, and dependents across the Federal Reserve System. The role mandates onsite work in Newark, NJ, and focuses on improving vendor relationships, program efficiency, and benefit strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as coach and support for staff responsible for vendor management of system‑wide benefits programs.
  • Ensure the team maintains current knowledge and certifications in legal, regulatory, plan compliance, and changes related to system benefits.
  • Use data to recommend benefit plan strategies, evaluate plan design changes, and assess cost and participant impact.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identify policy enhancements, and develop opportunities to offer appropriate benefit packages to the Federal Reserve System.
  • Develop and present to oversight committees, Reserve Bank, and Board of Governors stakeholders.
  • Lead high‑visibility projects with measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 4 years of experience.
  • Experience:

    Eight or more years preferred, with at least three years managing an operational team.
  • Experience driving operational teams toward streamlined processes, efficiency gains, and measurable outcomes.
