Vice President of Group

Manage the overall growth and direction of the Employee Benefits practice. Collaborate with executive leadership, producers, and account teams to ensure alignment with local practice objectives. Contribute to the creation and execution of strategies aimed at enhancing client retention, increasing revenue, improving service delivery, and ensuring operational consistency. Act as a subject matter expert and provide resources for Employee Benefits teams throughout the organization.

Help keep key clients by aiding teams in delivering strategic and consultative benefit solutions. Assist with complicated client matters, renewals, escalations, and discussions around strategic planning.

Ensure that clients receive tailored recommendations that align with their business objectives, employee requirements, risk profiles, and budgets. Strengthen client relationships by encouraging proactive service, education, and long-term planning. Collaborate with producers to pinpoint growth opportunities within the Employee Benefits practice. Support new business initiatives through strategy development, presentations, solution creation, and market insights. Promote cross-selling opportunities in various areas, including benefits, risk management, property and casualty, retirement, and specialty lines.

Contribute to crafting sales tools, resources, and best practices. Assist in enhancing the organization’s Employee Benefits products, services, resources, and operational model.

Identify ways to refine workflows, improve client experiences, boost team efficiency, and ensure consistent service. Work together with corporate centers of excellence to provide resources, technology, compliance support, and specialized knowledge to regional teams. Keep an eye on industry trends, updates from carriers, regulatory changes, and market conditions that may affect clients and teams. Coach and support Employee Benefits leaders, producers, account managers, and service teams.

Foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, entrepreneurship, and ongoing improvement. Help create training, educational, and professional development opportunities for Employee Benefits staff. Encourage regional teams to sustain their local culture while utilizing shared corporate resources and best practices.

EB Compliance – Serve as the business liaison within the EB Compliance team. Offer suggestions on issues that may affect the business. Mergers & Acquisitions – Engage in the acquisition process and aid in integrating new Corporate EB acquisitions, especially with our PE Firms. Specialty Practices – Provide strategic guidance for all our specialty practices while directly managing Communications & Design, Global Benefits, Pharmacy, VB, and Health & Performance.

Finance – Collaborate with the Finance/Accounting team regarding commissions. Identify, negotiate, and work alongside the COO during budget development and ongoing management.

Requirements and Skills:

A background of 15 to 20 years in Employee Benefits within an insurance brokerage setting. Experience in leading teams, both through direct reports and by influencing important stakeholders. Willingness to travel when necessary. A demonstrated skill in building and maintaining effective relationships, particularly with senior leadership, carriers, and vendors. Experience in creating strategies aimed at client retention and generating revenue.
