Are you the expert customers call when a machine goes down? Imagine opening Salesforce Lightning to a new service case: a 5‑axis VMC is throwing intermittent faults, production is halted, and the shop foreman needs a solution fast. You arrive, review schematics, check ladder logic, scope signals, and bring the equipment back online—then coach operators and close the loop with our service team.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, you’ll thrive at Morris Group, Inc., a USA Today Top Workplace and a third‑generation, family‑owned leader helping U.S. manufacturers boost productivity.
- Own the on‑site lifecycle—installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair—for CNC lathes, mills, and multi‑function machining centers and accessory equipment.
- Deliver operator training; connect machines to networks; configure software; perform preventive maintenance; execute alignments, major assembly replacements, overhauls/refurbs, upgrades/retrofits; and support uninstall services.
- Be the direct line between customers and the Service Group of the Robert
E. Morris Company; capture voice‑of‑customer input and build brand dedication through excellent service. - Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams; use test equipment to pinpoint issues across electrical, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and control domains.
- Document and manage work using the Salesforce Lightning Customer Support system.
- Travel from home to customer sites daily within your territory; stay overnight occasionally for remote jobs or training.
- Strong communication—in writing, in person, and by phone—with a professional demeanor and customer‑first mindset.
- Calm under pressure; flexible and adaptable when plans change.
- Computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Electro‑mechanical foundation (motors, drives, transformers) with a desire to keep learning; experience in machine tool manufacturing/installation/operation/maintenance/repair or broad shop exposure is a plus.
- Mechanical intuition, logical troubleshooting, and sound, rational decision‑making.
- Manufacturing and machining settings with potential exposure to noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated or manual machinery, plus time in office and training spaces at the Robert
E. Morris Company.
