Job SummaryThe Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into quality finished products; ensures that equipment and buildings are maintained and in good repair.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing safety as top Company priority and conducting/participating in regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
- Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
- Oversee all aspects of maintenance, preventative maintenance, manages breakdowns and repair.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.
- Responsible for overseeing job performance of production and maintenance as well as all the maintenance of equipment and buildings that are used to process raw and finished materials.
- Assist in conducting investigation of accidents that occur within jurisdiction and make recommendations to Plant Safety Committee.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Minimum 1-year of experience as a fabricator, including knowledge of welding and cutting techniques.
- Technical school certificate or Associates Degree.
- Labor relations background and leadership experience.
- Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.
Work Environment:
The plant may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, high noise levels, heat and cold, biohazardous conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, dangerous equipment, and occasional off‑site travel. Employees are often required to remain stationary for periods, walk, use hands for operating equipment, stoop or kneel to access machinery, and climb ladders. The role requires frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and handling of heavier items on occasion.
Physical Demands:
Sit, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift/drag equipment as described. Vision demands include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The position frequently requires working within the limits described above.
