Job Description

We’re partnering with a high-precision manufacturing company in New Jersey that’s growing and expanding its CNC turning and mill‑turn capabilities. They’re hiring a senior‑level CNC Lathe Programmer / Setup Technician to take ownership of complex work—setups, programming, optimization, and troubleshooting. This role is built for someone who likes being the person others rely on when tolerances are tight, surface finish matters, and cycle time can always be improved.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and program CNC lathes for prototype and production work
  • Create, edit, and optimize programs (at the control and/or through CAM)
  • Improve cycle times, reduce setup time, and increase throughput
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues (tooling, work holding, chatter, surface finish, scrap)
  • Select tooling/fixtures and build machining strategy from prints and specs
  • Support live tooling / mill‑turn work when needed (highly valued)
  • Support first‑article and in‑process inspection requirements
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet customer and quality requirements
Qualifications
  • 7+ years CNC lathe setup and programming experience
  • Proven ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Strong command of speeds and feeds, tooling, and work holding
  • Able to work independently and communicate well
  • Some lead/supervisory experience is a plus
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
Benefits
  • Dental and vision plans, 401(k)
  • Continuous training and tuition reimbursement
