Position OverviewThe
Shop Ambassador – Production Operations is the owner of production software on the shop floor and is responsible for ensuring systems are used correctly and consistently. This role supports operators, supervisors, and managers in day-to-day system use, helps resolve issues, and ensures production data is accurate and reliable.
The Shop Ambassador acts as the main connection between the shop floor and technical teams, helping make sure production systems support efficient workflows and real operational needs.
Key responsibilities- Own production software on the shop floor and ensure correct, consistent daily use.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operators and supervisors on system usage, issues, and questions.
- Control and review production software changes, including input on scope, prioritization, and release readiness.
- Support training and onboarding for production systems, including maintaining clear SOPs and reference materials.
- Gather shop-floor feedback to identify system gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Software, Engineering, IT, and CI teams to align systems with real production workflows.
- Support new system rollouts, updates, and testing while minimizing disruption to production.
- Ensure production data is accurate, complete, and reliably used instead of workarounds.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of shop-floor workflows and operations.
- Comfortable supporting, training, and coaching others.
- Clear communicator able to explain systems in practical terms.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Able to work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Software, and Engineering.
