Hourly Rate: $24
Possible Bonus: 5%
The Logistics Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the AAK Port Newark, NJ facility on a 5‑day a week, day‑shift basis. Some daily and weekend overtime is necessary. The position requires attention to detail, good record keeping, and the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Responsibilities- Maintain sanitation standards for assigned areas.
- Load vegetable oil into railcars/tank wagons and accurately complete documentation.
- Follow procedures to safely off‑load rail cars/tank wagons/CBEs/totes/drums.
- Zero lost‑time injuries while performing job.
- Assisting refinery operators in tasks that require additional manpower.
- Use forklift and other company tools and equipment in a proper and safe method.
- Assist with packaging, shipping, and maintaining warehouse organization.
- Assist maintenance employees with their tasks as able and as requested.
- Communicate effectively with the day supervisor on issues and problems that may occur.
- Report all incidents to Supervisor/Manager.
- Participate in company activities such as Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task force, Kaizen Teams, etc. Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste.
- Follow company PPE policy and ensure it is administered on‑site.
- Proper documentation and data entry.
- Understand and follow environmental protection policies set forth by company.
- 8‑hour OSHA on‑site safety training.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- Able to operate manual or electrical pallet jacks.
- Computer literate.
- Strong problem‑solving and math skills.
- Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management and organizational skills.
- 2–3 years in related field or related experience in manufacturing facility (preferred).
