Logistics Operator

Hourly Rate: $24
Possible Bonus: 5%

The Logistics Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the AAK Port Newark, NJ facility on a 5‑day a week, day‑shift basis. Some daily and weekend overtime is necessary. The position requires attention to detail, good record keeping, and the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

• Maintain sanitation standards for assigned areas.
• Load vegetable oil into railcars/tank wagons and accurately complete documentation.
• Follow procedures to safely off‑load rail cars/tank wagons/CBEs/totes/drums.
• Zero lost‑time injuries while performing job.
• Assisting refinery operators in tasks that require additional manpower.
• Use forklift and other company tools and equipment in a proper and safe method.
• Assist with packaging, shipping, and maintaining warehouse organization.
• Assist maintenance employees with their tasks as able and as requested.
• Communicate effectively with the day supervisor on issues and problems that may occur.
• Report all incidents to Supervisor/Manager.
• Participate in company activities such as Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task force, Kaizen Teams, etc. Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste.
• Follow company PPE policy and ensure it is administered on‑site.
• Proper documentation and data entry.
• Understand and follow environmental protection policies set forth by company.

• 8‑hour OSHA on‑site safety training.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Forklift certification (preferred).
• Able to operate manual or electrical pallet jacks.
• Computer literate.
• Strong problem‑solving and math skills.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management and organizational skills.
• 2–3 years in related field or related experience in manufacturing facility (preferred).
