Production Manager
Production Senior Manager Headquarters, Newark, NJ, US
The Production Manager oversees the daily operations of the production department to ensure that manufacturing (or project) processes run efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes while optimizing resources such as labor, materials, and equipment to achieve company targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and company objectives.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales departments to ensure material availability and timely delivery.
- Operational Management:
- Supervise daily production activities, ensuring targets for quality, output, and cost are met.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to respond to unforeseen challenges.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Quality & Safety:
- Enforce quality control standards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all safety protocols are followed by the production team.
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve performance goals.
- Evaluate employee performance and identify areas for improvement or training.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare production reports for management, highlighting key metrics such as output, efficiency, downtime, and quality issues.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field. (Not a must but a Plus)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (supervisory or management role preferred).
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
