Production Manager, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
We are an airline food manufacturing company seeking a Production Planner. Tasks include but are not limited to developing daily/weekly schedules for product and labor, as well as determining daily shipping amounts (based on production requirements).
- Must be a self-starter.
- Work with the logistics department to determine daily production and scheduling requirements.
- Schedules manpower, as well as determines efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure raw materials, paperwork and processes are in place prior to shift start time.
- Monitor production and completion of pallets.
- Report on production status throughout the day.
- Analyze and interpret numerical data and perform basic financial analysis.
- Handle production disruptions and productivity problems.
- Establishes performance measurement programs and analyzes work data to develop standards.
- Plans and strategize ways to increase the capacity, which will improve efficiency and waste reduction
- Ensure sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility via periodic audits.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Food service Standards.
- Responsible for ETEC system accuracy for purchasing and receiving the product.
- Conduct periodic inventory of purchased product storerooms.
- Manage purchase of internal products.
- Must be a team builder who is able to lead and motivate a diverse management and hourly staff. The Production Planner must also be able to build a positive employee relations culture and work environment.
- Have knowledge of internal policies and procedures.
- Competent in working independently within the area of expertise.
- Ability to solve quality-related problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of compliance situations and implement continuous improvement.
- Knows and follows all safety requirements; thereby maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effectively gives and receives feedback; willingly asks questions and seeks direction as needed.
- Must be able to function within a team environment.

- Must be adaptable This is a new process for all of us, so tasks may be revised or changed. You must be able to adjust.
- Assist as directed on ad hoc projects. Lead a team of up to LO hourly employees and supervisors. Acts as the subject matter expert for SAGE
- Completion of all open tasks assigned by Manager.
- BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field
- A minimum of 2-5 years supervising a food production environment
- Knowledge of internal policies and procedures
- Knowledge of HACCP requirements, USDA, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
- Knowledge of cold food production processes
- Candidate bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- Competent written skills and effective verbal communication
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a food manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical DemandsMust be able to bend, lift 50 pounds, and be able to stand throughout a workday.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stand for long periods of time and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time exempt position in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment. Flexibility with weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.
Travel RequirementsAbout 10% travel.
