Manufacturing Performance Leader – Somerset, NJ
:
Provide Leadership, coaching, and performance guidance to Manufacturing Performance Engineers on Operational excellence best practices to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale of the plant. Work with plant leadership team to develop CI strategies, annual improvement plant and KPI targets, identify potential projects, ensure alignment with business priorities and financial benefit targets, create roadmaps for execution and sustain results.
Partner with Finance to validate project results, savings and productivity impacts. Lead plant wide CI initiatives to improve productivity programs, waste elimination, flow optimization and digital enablement using manufacturing improvement software such as Redzone. Work with SAP team to integrate communication between SAP with redzone productivity and reliability modules. Serve as the primary CI subject matter expert to functional leaders in production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, HR and EHS.
Build CI capabilities across all levels of the organization – from front line associates to senior leaders. Enable and coach leaders in behaviors that reinforce a continuous improvement mindset. Support change-management efforts to ensure CI initiatives are adopted, sustained, and integrated into daily operations. Coach on High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) role model, promote servant leadership and Gemba Walks. Maintain and improve plant CI dashboards and KPIs (Productivity, OEE, Labor efficiency, scrap, services, deliveries etc.)
and communicate regularly with the plant team. Lead deployment and sustain of tiered accountability systems through daily Management system, CI training program and Lean six sigma certification pathways. Govern plant CI maturity, ensuring consistent application of CI tools, frameworks and performance expectations across all departments. Support food safety and quality issues to Plant management and involve quality improvement activities, participate in CAPA, facilitate RCA on quality issues.
Work with project management and R&D to facilitate flawless execution of new products, production modification and internal control procedures. Partner with Maintenance and Utilities teams to evaluate equipment reliability, downtime drivers, preventive maintenance effectiveness, energy consumption, and operational readiness and develop standards on asset reliability through training on breakdown analysis and TPM methodologies. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules and monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMPs.
Will supervise at least one employee.
- Must have a Master’s degree in Industrial and System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field plus at least 6 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing industry.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment;
- experience in creating SOPs, work instructions, OPLs;
- experience working with a data driven platform such as REDZONE and deployment and implementation of the application on the shop floor and management level;
- experience working with SAP S/4
HANA, Rockwell Factory Talk and utilizing SAP analytics for analyzing data also required. - Must possess Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Must have proficiency with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab, JMP;
- proficiency with Process Mapping Software - Visio, Microsoft project;
- and advanced proficiency with Excel, Pivot Tables, Tableau, Power BI, SQL etc.;
- and experience creating KPI dashboards.
- Excellent planning and organization skills;
- extensive management knowledge including TPM, Lean Manufacturing and performance improvement processes;
- strong written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills;
- ability to effectively communicate with entire organization from hourly employees through executive leadership;
- ability to build positive relationships;
- and ability to effectively coach at shop floor level are required.
- Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
