Community Engagement Specialist | Leading Energy & Utilities Company
We're looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to support a leading energy company's Clean Energy Solutions residential portfolio
. This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused professional with experience in community outreach, public relations, marketing, or corporate communications to drive awareness and participation in energy efficiency programs across New Jersey.
- Serve as an ambassador for residential energy efficiency programs, promoting enrollment and customer engagement.
- Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, customer meetings, and public functions.
- Build relationships with residents, community organizations, employee groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver presentations, educational materials, targeted communications, and promotional messaging.
- Collaborate with marketing, business development, sales, customer outreach, and corporate communications teams.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand program awareness through creative outreach and engagement strategies.
- Act as a primary point of contact for residential customers, responding to inquiries and generating program interest.
- Support event planning, logistics, stakeholder engagement efforts, and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in community outreach, corporate advocacy, customer engagement, public relations, communications, or marketing.
- Experience representing a company, organization, or business interests with external audiences and stakeholders.
- Strong presentation, written communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop educational content, promotional materials, and customer-facing communications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with event support, community engagement, brand ambassadorship, or stakeholder management.
- Comfortable networking, cold calling, public speaking, and representing company interests at customer-facing events.
- Interest in sustainability, renewable energy, energy efficiency programs, or customer incentive programs is a plus.
- Ability to travel throughout Northern and Southern New Jersey as needed and work onsite a minimum of three days per week.
