Job Overview:
The Oncology Infusion RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy and other infusion treatments for cancer and blood disorders in an outpatient Infusion Center. This role involves patient assessment, education, administration of treatments, and monitoring of patient responses. The RN works closely with Oncologists, Pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality compassionate care.

Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards; adheres to ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice; maintain knowledge level and advance knowledge of the patient care team by communicating with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Know the patient population served; supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities with interventions leading to measurable improvement.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address patient needs.
Required:
- Graduate from an NLN-accredited Nursing program
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Provision of compassionate care
- Minimum 1-2 years RN oncology experience
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification
- Strong IV skills, including venipuncture and central line access (PICC, Port-a-Cath)
Preferred:
- BSN
- OCN
- Infusion experience
- EPIC EMR experience
Certifications and Licenses
Required:
- Active NJ RN license or compact NJ endorsement
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification
Scheduling Requirements
:
- Day Shift
- Full-time 38 hours per week (4) 10 hour shifts
- Monday - Friday, hours 8:00a-6:00p
- Provide nursing care within regulatory standards and uphold ethical practice
- Maintain safety, advance knowledge, and communicate with the care team
- Report safety issues and medical errors
- Know patient population served; supervise and delegate tasks as appropriate
- Set and evaluate priorities with measurable outcomes
