Admissions Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant

Overview

The Admissions APP Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The APP needs to have one year of prescribing medication experience.

Monday through Friday Admissions & House Shift from 8a-4:30p.

• Provide patient-centered advanced practice care in collaboration with the care team.
• Assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership, clinical practice, consultation, collaboration, coaching, research, and ethical decision-making.
• Maintain prescribing authority with required regulatory compliance.
• Work a Monday through Friday schedule:
  Admissions & House Shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Advanced Practice Nurse License.
• BLS ACLS Certification (AHA Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider).
• Board certified by AANP or ANCC.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
• Physician Assistant license (for PA candidates).
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
