Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit FT Nights

Job Overview

Position: RN (Registered Nurse) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ. Hourly rate $49.28–$66.05 per hour, based on qualification and experience.

Shift: Night 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Monday – Friday with alternating weekend and holiday rotation. Full‑time, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited NLN nursing program.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet unit needs.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Preferred
  • BSN degree.
  • Prior NICU experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses:
    • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
    • BLS from the American Heart Association.
    • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
Scheduling Requirements
  • Night Shift, 7p–7a.
  • Full Time – 36 hours per week.
  • Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Essential Functions
  • Provide nursing care within scope of the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure safety and uphold evidence‑based practice principles.
  • Report safety issues and potential medical errors.
  • Maintain knowledge of patient population and practice areas.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks, collaborating with multidisciplinary team.
  • Set priorities and evaluate interventions, measuring outcomes for improvement.
  • Individualize care plans using the nursing process.
