Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, 201 Lyons Avenue, Newark, NJ

Department: CH-Intensive Care Unit

Status: Part-Time / Hourly

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $20.89 - $26.20 per hour (New Jersey)

Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient’s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care.

• Required:
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Effective communication skills and basic math skills
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
• Preferred:
  • Previous Nursing Assistant experience
  • Or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program

• BLS certification through American Heart Association

• Days (Day shift)
• Every other weekend required; schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
• Part Time
• Mandatory Orientation

• Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team
• Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base
• Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age-specific needs and provide age‑specific treatment and care
