Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Float Critical Care Full Time Day

A typical day as a Registered Nurse (RN) may include:

  • The Float Critical Care RN provides safe, evidence-based nursing care across multiple high-acuity units including ICU, CCU, CTICU, CTIMCU and IMCU, based on staffing needs.
  • This role requires broad critical care competency, adaptability and the ability to quickly orient to varied unit protocols, equipment and patient populations ranging from IMCU to the highest acuity ICU patients.
  • Administer high-risk medications, titrate drips and manage complex IV/central line and arterial line access.
  • Provide patient and family-centered communication and emotional support during critical illness
  • Care for critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, hemodynamic monitoring and patients requiring ECMO support
  • Deliver direct patient care across assigned critical care and intermediate care units based on daily staffing needs
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients and families
  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
  • Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
  • Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
  • Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
  • Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

  • To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire and ACLS must be completed within 120 days of hire and CCRN preferred. An Associate Science in Nursing degree is required. Bachelor's degree in nursing completion with 5 years of hire is required.

    A minimum 2 years of hospital experience in ICU/CCU/CTICU/IMCU is highly preferred. Must be comfortable with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Full-time day shift 7a-7:30pm Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation allows you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
