Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive adult medical oncology, gynecologic oncology, and hematology nursing care in a clinic setting. Manages procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, port access, central line blood draws, and hormonal therapy, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform adult oncology assessments, screenings, and treatments including port access and central line blood draws.
- Conduct and assist with bone marrow biopsies, GYN biopsies, Pap tests, colposcopies, pelvic exams, and colostomy care.
- Administer medications such as neupogen, hormonal therapies, and manage patient symptoms and side effects.
- Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately in Epic electronic medical records.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments, provide patient education, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in adult medical oncology or hematology.
- BLS certification must be current at the time of submission.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system required.
- Ability to access ports, perform blood draws, and manage oncology treatments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to float within skill set as needed.
