Travel RN - Pediatric ICU - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience with 1 year of cardiac experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of cardiac experience, documented on skills checklist
• Experience with congenital heart disease and repair (ASD, VSD, AV Canal Defect, TOF), cardiac transplant, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring
• Ventilator management, airway care, and BiPAP/CPAP management skills
• IV therapy skills including central line care, PICC management, and TPN/lipid administration
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and the Broselow system
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Work in a 19-bed CVPICU treating infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 or greater depending on acuity and census
• May float to Pediatrics and NICU units within skillset
• EPIC EMR experience required
• On-call/coverage required for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiac patients including those with congenital heart defects, post-Glenn/Fontan procedures, and cardiac catheterization/ablation recovery
• Perform specialty procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis support, and lumbar puncture assistance
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Unit is part of NJ's only Pediatric Cardiac ICU, offering ECMO, nitric oxide, and VAD support for complex heart disease
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period
