American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring NJ or compact RN licensure and 1.5+ years of adult ED experience.

• Emergency Department in a 665-bed acute care teaching hospital with 73 beds including pediatrics, fast track, and a 19-bed rapid decision unit
• Cares for adult and pediatric patients with medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies, including dedicated geriatric and pediatric services
• May care for holding patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6+ depending on census, patient acuity, and staffing
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• May float to Peds ED (rare), within skillset only
• EPIC EMR experience required

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, ITTC De-escalation Training
• Minimum 1.5 years of adult ED experience required
• Skilled in central line care/management, medication administration, isolation precautions, triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• At least one supervisory reference required for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), either worked or on-call
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former RWJBH employees (full time or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travel clinician
