I am currently partnered with a leading Nutraceutical contract manufacturing company based in New Jersey. This is an onsite position in Long Island, 5 days a week full time. Looking to on board ASAP. Position Title Position Purpose and ObjectivesThe Senior Chemist will lead formulation and research activities within the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical product development team. This role is responsible for managing ingredient research, raw material evaluation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (including FDA, DSHEA, and cGMP). The Senior Chemist will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative formulations and maintain high-quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Essential Job Functions- Conduct ingredient research and evaluate raw materials for quality and suitability.
- Develop and optimize formulations for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, processes, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to support product development.
- Troubleshoot formulation issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Stay current with industry trends, new ingredients, and regulatory changes.
- Strong understanding of nutraceutical formulation principles.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical methods.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (FDA, DSHEA, cGMP).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- May oversee junior chemists or lab technicians as needed.
- Responsible for training team members in formulation processes and compliance requirements.
- On-site position in Long Island, New York.
- Work primarily in laboratory and production environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Food related field.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Innovative and proactive in problem-solving.
- Strong technical expertise and regulatory knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and compliance.
