Quality Technician/ Inspector, Quality Control / Manager
Arcosa Asphalt is seeking a Quality Control Technician based out of our Asphalt locations throughout Central and Northern New Jersey to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our materials in our East Region. This role is responsible for sampling and conducting tests on asphalt and aggregates to ensure they conform to the appropriate agency standards using the appropriate testing methods.

- Actively promote safety
- Your Primary responsibility will be to sample and conduct sampling and testing of asphalt and aggregates used in asphalt to ensure compliance with State, local and customer specifications
- Maintain a database in addition to testing, you will be responsible for documenting and reporting information
- This requires you promptly and accurately complete testing and report your findings to your supervisor
- Routinely monitor truck loads of asphalt and stockpiles for segregation and contamination
- Perform daily inspections of the lab and equipment and maintenance as necessary
- Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
- May be required to travel to other sites
- May require night shift/overnight hours
- May require overtime and weekends
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Have a positive attitude and open to listening and learning new procedures
- Be detailed oriented and well organized
- Self-motivated positively by working independently, however demonstrate eagerness to participate with being part of a team setting
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to clearly and politely communicate with agency representatives
- Be proficient in Microsoft office suite and relevant software packages like Stonemont
- Experience in asphalt and aggregate testing and NJSAT level 1 and level 2 certified
- Can lift up to 80 pounds
- Valid driver license
- Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, for an extended period
- The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- Basic math skills are vital for purposes of accuracy
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
While most areas have air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.
Compensation$24.36 - $28.52
