Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological and analytical testing of products, ingredients, food components, and environmental samples under the guidance of the supervisor.
- Ensure quality conformance to microbiological, analytical, and other specifications for all samples submitted.
- Utilize the LIMS computer system for data storage of analytical micro results.
- Remain current on microbiological techniques including micro plating, Vidas testing, Gene‑Up testing, and FDA BAM.
- Comply with laboratory ISO
17025 standards. - Follow up with supervision/management on all exceptions and corrective actions.
- Assist in continuous improvement and the implementation of efficient and effective changes to process, equipment, facility, and supplies.
- Maintain pertinent cultures and/or purity testing as needed under the direction of supervisor.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all equipment and instrumentation associated with assigned assays and duties.
- Assist in 3rd‑party sample submissions, if needed.
- Conduct microbial tests of food products and environmental samples using established Campbell's protocols.
- Conduct spoilage analysis and risk assessment studies of finished products and ingredients.
- Clearly interpret results and report findings to supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience as a Lab Technician.
- Capable of following directions and being fully responsible for work performed.
- Proven bench microbiology skills with good aseptic technique.
- Understanding and demonstration of broader food safety principles and practices.
- Ability to understand, apply, and communicate microbiology principles to lab management.
- Computer literate with ability to work in Microsoft Office and use complex analytical equipment.
- Detail‑oriented, well‑organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Great problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in food safety, microbiology, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a microbiology laboratory or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The target base salary range for this full‑time, salaried position is $53,100–$73,000. Base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
