Research Teaching Specialist IV

Position Status:
Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, on-site only. Grade: 19S.
Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) seeks a Research Teaching Specialist IV to support laboratory research in wound healing, salivary gland development and regeneration, and saliva–bacteria/host–microbe interactions using molecular, cellular, and in vivo mouse approaches within a collaborative environment.
Posting Summary- Independent execution of specialized laboratory experiments using molecular, cellular, and tissue-based assays.
- Conduct in vitro experiments (cell culture, molecular biology) and in vivo (mouse) studies, following approved protocols.
- Maintain accurate experimental records per institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with protocol development, optimization, and day-to-day laboratory operations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies.
- Compile data and assist in preparing figures, summaries, reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Support and assist with training of students and new laboratory personnel.
- Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures specific to their roles.
Base salary: $54,196.00 (minimum). Mid-range: $64,635.00. Maximum: $76,450.00. Final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and available funding.

- Master’s degree in Oral Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field; or Bachelor’s degree plus one year of research experience.
- Prior experience with mouse handling and wet‑lab research techniques (cell culture, basic molecular biology, gene editing, molecular cloning).
- Ability to plan and carry out research projects independently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentational skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
- Willingness to obtain required training and learn new skills.
