Student Assistant
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant in the Center for Immunity and Inflammation with the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). The Student Lab Assistant will provide essential support to the Med Track student's project and help manage the daily operations of the lab. This position is crucial for maintaining the lab's organization, assisting in data collection and entry, operating equipment, and contributing to ongoing research experiments.
The assistant will play a key role in ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, supporting the overall productivity of the lab.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Maintain Lab Organization:
Ensure that the lab is well-organized, tidy, and equipped for daily operations and research experiments. - Support Data Collection and Entry:
Assist with gathering, entering, and managing data to ensure accuracy and timely completion of research tasks. - Operate Equipment:
Help set up and operate lab equipment, ensuring that all tools and instruments are functioning properly for experiments. - Contribute to Research Experiments:
Assist in conducting research, including preparation and execution of experiments, following established protocols. - Assist with Lab Operations:
Support daily administrative and operational tasks to ensure smooth lab functioning. - Enhance Lab Productivity:
Contribute to the efficiency of the lab by assisting with tasks, ensuring the timely completion of duties, and providing general support to lab staff and researchers.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Current enrollment in a relevant academic program (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field).

- Previous experience in a laboratory setting or assisting with research projects is preferred but not required. Research-driven environment where safety and attention to detail are a priority. Work may involve exposure to typical laboratory chemicals, reagents, and equipment. Regular interaction with lab staff, researchers, and students.
