Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Coordinator II for the School of Nursing. The Research Project Coordinator II functions as the primary operational, scientific, and administrative partner to a tenure-track faculty investigator leading multiple funded research projects.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Handles the end-to-end coordination of complex, multi-study research portfolios, spanning laboratory-based research, human subjects research, and community-engaged studies.
- Oversees study implementation, regulatory compliance, participant management, and team coordination.
- Supports scholarly productivity through manuscript preparation and submission.
- Serves as the operational backbone of the research program, enabling the PI to focus on scientific leadership, funding acquisition, and dissemination.

QualificationsMinimum
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in research coordination or project management in an academic, clinical, or research-intensive environment, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience with IRB processes, regulatory compliance, and multi-project coordination.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in research data management systems such as REDCap.
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced project management expertise and strong scientific literacy.
- Ability to integrate regulatory, logistical, and research functions into a cohesive infrastructure that ensures all studies progress efficiently, ethically, and in accordance with sponsor and institutional requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in research coordination or project management in an academic, clinical, or research-intensive environment.
- Experience supporting federally funded research (e.g., NIH), familiarity with laboratory-based research and biospecimen management, and training in Good Clinical Practice.
- Experience in community-engaged or health disparities research and the ability to independently manage complex, multi-site studies.
