HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

We are looking for a Henderson Products (a Douglas Dynamics company) Regional Sales Representative responsible for the direct sales growth, account management, and marketing activities within the appointed region of Long Island NY and the state of NJ. The Regional Sales Representative’s leadership is key to maintaining the company’s image to end users (local municipalities and truck dealers) for quality products and services.

You will be able to accomplish this by:

  • Forecasting, development, and effective implementation of sales and marketing plans to achieve territory sales forecasts.
  • Effective territory management, including establishment of buying cycles, customer needs and relations, is critical to success.
  • Recommendations for advertising programs, regional trade shows, and other market specific activities to cost effectively promote Henderson Products.
  • Identify revenue opportunities and monitor competitive activity and trends, informing management as appropriate.
  • Maintain sales programs by keeping municipal customers informed directly about available services, equipment, prices, and new products. Products include complete snow and ice removal trucks, brine equipment, parts, and service.
  • Assist customers in selection of snow and ice truck equipment for specific applications.
  • Assist with product trouble diagnoses and resolution.
  • Travel (occasional overnights) schedule to effectively manage assigned territory (Long Island NY & New Jersey, with facility in Watertown NY & Kenvil NJ.)
  • Knowledge of features, benefits and use of products, with understanding of selling techniques and ability to close sales within the municipal sector. Manage municipal bid process when required.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or Related field preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in direct sales or account management.
  • Truck equipment industry and municipal sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Aptitude to gain extensive truck equipment industry knowledge, with an emphasis on snow and ice products.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem analysis and resolution ability; ability to work with truck equipment specifications
  • Technological skills required with knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel and Word in Windows environment
  • Organizational, detail, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team player
