Territory Manager, Companion Animal - North New Jersey

Location:

North New Jersey

Base Salary: $85,

Commission: $0-40,000

Responsibilities and Key Duties
  • Manage and prioritize all activities to meet territory objectives according to account segmentation.
  • Complete pre‑call planning, clinic‑by‑clinic with clear objectives for each sales call.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings with critical account staff, make sales presentations, close business, and take orders; utilize Sales Force Effectiveness principles.
  • Develop and execute sales plan to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives through analysis of current sales revenue, market share, competitive activity, and opportunities.
  • Track and measure progress against the plan, adapt as needed to ensure success.
  • Maximize opportunities by developing territory routes and segmentation to build revenue with existing customers while prospecting new business.
  • Influence the entire healthcare team to recommend and sell Ceva products, educate and impact practices.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating, developing solutions, and recommending to management.
  • Attend and coordinate events such as local VMAs, KOL dinners, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with veterinarians and key decision makers within clinics.
  • Increase dispensing through staff trainings, promotional activities, incentives, and contests.
  • Partner with Distribution Sales Representatives to enhance their knowledge, plan support, and maximize opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Manager on negotiations with large practices or group purchasing organizations.
  • Complete administrative and sales reporting duties including weekly expense and territory reports, managing expense budgets.
  • Use CRM to maintain call notes and track sales activity and investment in medical education programs.
  • Report market environment including competitors, customer details, or changes.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Work Experience:

  • 3-10 years proven track record in outside sales, strongly preferred. Minimum proven success in a fast‑paced B2B sales environment.
  • Uses analytics and insights to enhance decision‑making and tactical execution.
  • Follow‑through and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage assigned expense budgets.
  • Highly focused and results oriented, able to identify goals and priorities and resolve issues early.

Other:
Must have an acceptable driving record and be willing and able to spend 8+ hours per day in a vehicle.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel via plane or car for up to 8 hours per day.

Must possess ability to read, speak and understand English.

Working Conditions

Primary work location is making sales calls within veterinary clinics. Must be comfortable working around animals.

Travel Required

Overnight travel required; amount varies by territory.
