Position: Diagnostic Sales Manager (North New Jersey)

Job Purpose/Overview

The Diagnostic Sales Manager (DSM) will manage their territory market share, book of business, and growth goals by promoting, selling, and supporting Antech Reference Lab services, In‑house Diagnostics, Telemedicine offerings, and Imaging systems. The DSM will serve as an advisor, leader, and technical expert to support peer mentorships, colleagues, and functions to develop sales tactics to expedite new business, renewals, and resolve complicated customer issues.

Responsibilities
  • Create and implement territory coverage plans for optimal account coverage.
  • Conduct 85%+ in‑person sales calls to promote, sell, and service animal hospitals, veterinarians, and staff to achieve growth targets.
  • Increase diagnostic revenue for Reference Lab, Imaging, and In‑house Diagnostics through new account acquisition and upgrades.
  • Advance sales to contract closure while seeking appropriate approvals per the sales operations process.
  • Create quarterly sales plans to achieve goals and comply with the sales compensation plan.
  • Provide IHD and Reference Lab education, training, support, and service, including staff in‑services and veterinarian seminars.
  • Identify customer needs, translate them into solutions, and present the best options for practice needs.
  • Manage territory finances: control expenses, renew and sign new contracts, and prospect new opportunities.
  • Respect client time by providing thorough analysis in meetings and anticipating issues to reduce contact frequency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources to create new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Teams to secure leads and share competitive market insights with regional and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate daily support and customer activities at meetings.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce (CRM) records of customer and business data.
  • Negotiate and implement mutually beneficial contracts while adhering to pricing guidelines.
  • Utilize approved sales collateral to support promotional and territorial needs.
  • Co‑promote the full portfolio of Antech services and products with cross‑functional teams.
  • Partner with Equipment Specialists and Regional Managers to identify critical opportunities for full diagnostic suites.
  • Safeguard company assets and comply with administrative and reporting responsibilities.
  • Complete administrative duties including daily forecasting and CRM updates.
  • Provide product and lab diagnostic support and service during staff in‑services and seminars.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews for current clients.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Health, Biological Sciences, Lab Sciences, Business or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of successful field sales experience (Veterinary Diagnostics preferred).
  • Track record of high sales performance, prospecting, pre‑call planning, and closing deals.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong sales and closing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build client relationships.
  • Professional maturity with adaptability to independent and team environments.
  • Ability to close new business within short sales cycles and execute strategies in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to train peers on sales processes and use of collateral.
  • Data‑driven decision making and ability to inform leadership of high‑priority opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze client data for growth opportunities.
  • Effective organization, scheduling, and time‑management under changing priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license; insurable; travel up to 85% within territory, up to 4 hours consecutive.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
