Position: Sales Director, New Jersey

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develop and lead Sales Consultants representing, selling and promoting the Winebow portfolio in an assigned Market.
  • The Director’s primary responsibilities are to manage the commercial success of the Market, customer relationships, sales execution and supplier programs and relationships.
  • Develop and implement effective sales plans to achieve company and supplier objectives.
  • Develop and increase the existing customer base to maximize distribution of Winebow’s portfolio.
  • Develop relationships with decision makers of Key Customers to increase support for Winebow’s portfolio.
  • Plan and execute regional Sales Meetings with District Managers.
  • Develop and work with District Managers to support increased wine proficiency and product knowledge.
  • Support Portfolio Managers by planning and executing programs for key brands within Winebow’s portfolio.
  • Develop and implement key account management tools including Daily Planners, strategic account planning and increasing customer base through the use of Analytic tools and unsold account lists.
  • Support the successful introduction and placement of new suppliers and new products.
  • Communicate with suppliers to help ensure successful program execution.
  • Responsible for staffing, conducting performance appraisals with direct reports, budgeting, ensuring compliance with training requirements, developing direct reports and controlling division expenditures.
  • Ensure participation in Winebow Learning programs, provide timely educational support when necessary.
  • Communicate and work closely with Winebow’s Accounts Receivable department to resolve any billing issues within the Market.
  • Responsible for intervening and supporting District Managers with Customer Service to resolve ordering or shipping needs in the Market.
  • Achieve assigned goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Arrive at work, appointments, meetings, and all work-related functions on time.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Acts as back-up for Consultants and District Managers that are out of market.
  • Attends department and division meetings and functions as required.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Significant travel by automobile.

EQUIPMENT / MACHINERY USED

Automobile, telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, calculator, cellphone and/or iPad.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting up to 35 lbs., bending, sitting, carrying, standing, climbing, manual dexterity, reaching, visual acuity, driving.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of sales experience in the wine and/or spirits industry preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful managerial experience managing direct reports.
  • WSET Level 3 or comparable industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency including but limited to MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $-$. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 20%. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package of medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, 401(k) with company match, employee purchase program (where licensed) and paid time off. If you are hired at Winebow, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education and/or experience.

In addition to those factors, we consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
