Job Description
Parsons is looking for a talented Environmental Geologist/Scientist to join our team! You will independently perform a wide variety of geological and field tasks. Proficiency in soil classification and use of geological theories and practices is required. Assignments may involve computer software applications and groundwater flow modeling. You will partner with other geologists to manage projects, conduct field surveys, and travel to field sites as expected.
SpecificResponsibilities
- Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of standard geological principles and theories.
- Apply available data pertinent to geology and/or hydrogeology, accurately describing and classifying soil and rock samples.
- Collect soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental samples; conduct and analyze data.
- Provide technical guidance for strati graphic and groundwater drilling programs.
- Assist in the development of geological mapping.
- Analyze and interpret geological data, including hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry.
- Interpret environmental sample analysis results within the geological context.
- Prepare geologic maps and cross sections, including potentiometric surface maps and hydro graphs.
- Assist in geologic report preparation; develop materials and complete reports on finished field work.
- Provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
- Working knowledge of computer software applications used in geological analyses.
- Experience with computer groundwater flow modeling and mapping.
- Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform work duties independently and in team environments.
- Ability to monitor and guide the work of others.
- Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of related work experience.
