Position Overview

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V in the Center for Immunity and Inflammation of the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr Liwen Deng, the Research Teaching Specialist V performs research activities, applying standard techniques and procedures. Among the key duties are listed below.
- As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory.
- Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures, suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
- Assists with training fellows, medical students and lab technicians in laboratory techniques as directed.
- Responsible for submitting purchase recommendations to his/her supervisor.
- Ensures that laboratory equipment is maintained in good working order.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior research experience an asset.
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing.
- No special vision requirements.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Laboratory environment.
- Moderate noise.
Salary:
Minimum $49,883;
Mid Range $59,362;
Maximum $69,920. The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Rutgers also considers market benchmarks and internal equity to ensure fair compensation.
