Security Guard - Medical Patrol Driver in Newark, NJ involves serving and safeguarding clients in healthcare and related settings. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a fast-paced healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for service, and support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and strong customer service.

You will bring agility, reliability, and integrity to every shift, partnering with your team to deliver caring, people-first service.

Job Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday, 11:00 PM – 07:30 AM

What You'll Do
  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or hazard concerns for reporting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, assisting with way finding, and coordinating with medical staff and local responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, verify credentials when required, and help maintain orderly movement through lobbies, waiting areas, and restricted departments.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and follow-up documentation, and communicate observations to supervisors and client representatives.
Minimum Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Hospital vaccines are required.
  • A minimum of 1+ years’ law enforcement experience or 2+ years’ security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years’ security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Hospital:
    Restrain Individuals is required.
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
