Responsibilities- Patrol areas to identify suspicious behavior, detect vulnerabilities, and deter unlawful acts, including:
- boundaries between landside and SIDA
- boundaries between landside and secured/sterile areas
- areas where baggage, cargo, and mail are handled before loading onto aircraft
- public-facing areas
- Back of House (BOH) areas
- Ensure patrols do not follow a predictable pattern; vary routes and timings, prioritizing high-risk areas (landside/airside boundary lines and crowded areas).
- Respond to potential incidents by staying in location, maintaining passive oversight, and attempting to alleviate without intervention when feasible.
- Inspect security-critical doors and verify that door readers, signage, alarms, access control readers, and emergency equipment are intact and functioning.
- Ensure all personnel wear a valid airport badge clearly visible and enforce badge visibility; request to see badges from non-compliant individuals.
- Adhere to access rights and business-need movement rules within zones (e.g., shop staff access limitations).
- Conduct periodic random spot checks of employee and authorized visitor passes to ensure compliance with pass regulations.
- Report unauthorized persons in secured zones to TA SOC for intervention by PAPD as needed.
- A current guard card license as required by state or local law.
- A state-issued /driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is highly desirable.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- High integrity with exemplary security skills and judgment.
- Above-average computer skills and possession of all required licenses, permits, and certifications for the assignment location.
