Overview
About the Role The Sr Plumber/Steamfitter position is to take the lead in performing a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures including supply systems, DWV system, plumbing, heating, and steam fixtures/equipment. Assists in the work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers and mechanics of other skilled trades.
Responsibilities- Operates, maintains, repairs, and installs pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, heating fixtures, steam fixtures, regulator valves and various system elements/appliances.
- Responds to plumbing trouble calls and requests within the facilities, using hand tools, pneumatic and/or hydraulic power tools, analyzing equipment and testing instruments.
- Performs routine maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspections on plumbing systems equipment and related equipment/systems.
- Installs, repairs and/or maintains water, gas, oil, waste disposal and high-pressure steam and high-temperature hot water.
- Prepares, maintains, and submits to the Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction requisitions for material, work orders, required records and reports relating to plumbing equipment/systems.
What You’ll Bring:
Required
- Technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge plus five (5) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems/equipment, in an educational, industrial or health care setting.
- Sound knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading is required, as is thorough knowledge of all applicable (local, state, and national) codes.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime.

- New Jersey Black Seal Engineer’s License is preferred.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is OH/2100 - $31.17/hr - $31.67/hr -$32.62/hr university Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law;
final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
