Responsibilities
- Work within cross‑functional and cross‑discipline teams to install and maintain refrigeration equipment, including walk‑ins, reach‑ins and ice machines, according to plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and ancillary components such as refrigeration, ventilation, air compressors, air conditioners, boilers, heat pumps, wells, chillers and environmental units.
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems and determine the need for repair or replacement of system components (mechanical, electrical and/or fluid).
- Read and understand diagrams, blueprints and schematics for mechanical systems and structural modifications to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical and pneumatic control systems.
- Fit and assemble small‑diameter copper piping, including soldering.
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used and refrigerant logs in accordance with established procedures and federal law.
- Complete electronic logs and use Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Work with vendors to specify and order necessary parts for jobs.
- Experience with PLC‑controlled systems (mechanical and pneumatic).
- Collaborate with and support external service suppliers as needed.
- Operate within a work order system.
- Operate various electrical meters and testers, leak‑testing equipment, refrigeration gauges, pressure gauges, torches, recovery units, vacuum pumps and related testing and repair devices.
This role involves working across the Glasgow, Delaware site in various weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold, or rainy weather. You should be comfortable wearing appropriate PPE for the task, including gloves, glasses, hearing protection and hardhats when required. Physical demands include standing, squatting, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements- High school diploma or GED.
- Possession of a Universal CFC certification.
- Preferred HVAC Journeyman License in Delaware or completion of a 4‑year HVAC Apprenticeship.
- Training in LOTO.
- Experience with Lean business systems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S and Standard Work.
- 3‑5 years of experience working in commercial settings with commercial equipment.
- Familiarity with facilities ancillary equipment: boilers, chillers, air compressors, wells, water systems, air handlers, commercial refrigeration and cargocares.
- Position requires off‑hours on‑call support and occasional weekend overtime.
Base pay range: $71,180 – $97,878.
