Pipefitter
This role focuses on HVAC pipe fitting for commercial projects across the state, working on a variety of systems and piping methods to support large-scale building installations.
Responsibilities- Install, assemble, and fit HVAC piping systems on commercial job sites throughout the state.
- Work with VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems, ensuring accurate layout, alignment, and secure connections.
- Install and connect grooved piping systems, including the use of appropriate fittings and joining methods.
- Assemble and install Victaulic piping systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute pipe fitting tasks accurately.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Inspect completed piping installations for quality, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members on-site to coordinate work and maintain project schedules.
- Follow all safety procedures and site protocols while working on active commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience in pipe fitting on commercial projects.
- Hands-on experience working with VRF HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in installing and working with grooved piping systems.
- Experience assembling and installing Victaulic piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications related to piping installations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when measuring, cutting, and fitting pipes.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and working safely on active construction sites.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience on a variety of commercial HVAC projects.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards for HVAC pipe fitting.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a field installation team on large job sites.
You will contribute to significant commercial projects across the state, gaining exposure to modern HVAC systems and piping technologies. The role offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in VRF, grooved, and Victaulic systems while working alongside experienced tradespeople in a professional and safety-focused environment.
Work EnvironmentThis position is field-based on commercial construction sites throughout the state. You will work with HVAC piping systems, including VRF, grooved, and Victaulic installations, using standard pipe fitting tools and equipment. The work environment is active and hands-on, often requiring standing, lifting, and working in various positions to access piping runs and equipment. Work hours typically follow standard construction schedules and may vary by project needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
